Celebrating 125 years

In April this year our church building was 125 years old, and we celebrated the anniversary with two special events.
There has been a place of worship in Brentwood dedicated to St Thomas of Canterbury since the 13th century but the dedication of the present church on 26th April 1883 was a very significant milestone for the people of Brentwood. Several generations have worshipped God in this place and have begun and ended their Christian journey here, strengthened along the way by the sacraments. In celebrating this anniversary we are giving thanks to God for this house of prayer and for the many blessings received over the past 125 years, and we are also praying for the future of our parish, that we may continue to do the work committed to us with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Saturday 26th April: Festival of Praise - 7.00pm
Choral classics will be performed by the Parish Choir, Girls' Choir, Becket Singers and Orchestra of St Thomas'. The evening will include 'My Favourite Hymn' introduced by six members of the congregation, with the audience encouraged to join in! Drinks will be served during the interval. Admission free - retiring collection in aid of the Organ Restoration Appeal.
