The Clergy of St Thomas'

From left to right, Fr Bob, Fr Matthew and Fr Ossie

Fr Bob White has retired after 19 years as Vicar of Brentwood. He moved to Brentwood from Southend, where he had been Team Rector for ten years, and before that served as curate and parish priest of two other parishes in the diocese. Fr Bob was until recently the Rural Dean of Brentwood, and is an Honorary Canon of Chelmsford Cathedral. Our patrons, the Diocesan Board of Patronage, are in the process of appointing a new vicar for our parish.

Fr Matthew Bemand was ordained Priest in St Thomas' on 24th June 2007 having spent a year as a Deacon, and is the Assistant Curate in the parish. Before moving to Brentwood he spent three years training at St Stephen's House in Oxford, and had previously been a Maths teacher. Fr Matthew is responsible for this website.

Fr Ossie Trellis has been assisting at St Thomas since he retired in 2006 after five years as parish priest of All Saints Doddinghurst. He has spent most of his ministry in parishes in this diocese, apart from six years as Dean of Georgetown Cathedral, Guyana.
